WATER MANAGEMENT
The mine water management system will:
Distribute raw water (pipeline) supply
Collect and pump pit groundwater to reservoirs
Provide water for coal processing and dust suppression
Collect internal works water and wastewater to prevent uncontrolled releases from the site
Divert surface water away from mine excavation
Divert on-site water from operating areas
We will construct diversion drains, levees, and bund walls to protect and contain the site's operational areas. This will enable the agricultural land to be used without loss of surface water flows.
It is natural that groundwater levels in the immediate area of the mine excavation will be impacted; however we expect no adverse results. We will monitor groundwater levels to detect and mitigate impacts should they eventuate.
