Magnetic South Pty Ltd has submitted an application seeking approval for mining rights, specifically an Environmental Authority (EA) Mining Lease.

Under the Environmental Protection Act 1994 (EP Act), resource activity such as; coal, steam and gas must be issued with environmental authority granted by the Department of Environment and Science before proceeding with operations. A Environmental authority (EA) application is a amendment based on risks of environmental harm.
What purposes for which a mining lease is granted?
At Magnetic South we value environmentally safe mining. A mining lease granted for operations by the Queensland Government ensures a full in-depth environmental assessment of the mining project. This is to ensure there is no increased risk of environmental harm regarding the project.
Approximately how long will the the application take to be approved?
A range from forty-five to eighty-five business days.
