Regional Benefits

In order to provide economic and infrastructure benefits to the region, the Gemini Project aims to inject $60 million into the Central Queensland region each year via local employment opportunities and purchase of local goods and services.

ECONOMIC BENEFITS

The Gemini Project will provide opportunities across the region for local residents and businesses, creating a positive impact economically by:

  • Employing a workforce of 200-300 workers during the construction phase of mine development

  • Employing an operational workforce of ~200 full-time jobs for plant operators, truck drivers, electricians and fixed and mobile plant maintenance workers

  • Providing workers with direct skills development and training opportunities

  • Strengthening local business by increasing demand for goods and services

  • Increasing employment opportunities in local business due to the increased demand

Further, we will recruit locally based workers by working with the Central Highland Regional Development workforce vacancy and notification program.

We will ensure worker accommodation complies with the Queensland Government rules for the region and that there is little impact on the region's community, social and human services.
