The Washpool Project is situated in the Bowen Basin coal field, Central Queensland, 200 kilometres (km) west of Rockhampton, and 60km to the east of Emerald.
ABOUT WASHPOOL PROJECT
Washpool is well explored with a combination of drilling and seismic programs over the resource. A JORC Resource (2010) has been defined of 108Mt measured and indicated resource.
A concept study was completed in 2014, proposing an open cut mine utilizing truck and shovel operations producing 2.9Mtpa of coking coal over a 20-year mine life including rehabilitation. The coal would be washed on site at a beneficiation plant prior to being transported to Gladstone via the Blackwater Rail system. The distance between the Project and the port is approximately 320km
Further environmental and mining studies are being undertaken on the Washpool project to assess the development opportunities.
